Air India’s decision to join Star Alliance in July 2014, has benefited it under the Code Share arrangement. Star Alliance’s 28 members offer a network of 18,500 daily flights to 1,300 airports in 192 countries. The members sell tickets jointly and a single interface for passengers to book tickets in member airlines. With the Code Share arrangement with other Star Alliance Airline Partners, Air India is able to carry the passengers of other airlines to the remote destinations in India. Similarly, Air India is also able to sell its ticket for other International Destinations where Air India has not been flying.
